NNV - Null 'N' Void

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the debut self-titled single from Newcastle based new band Null ‘N’ Void. The alternative/grunge trio have risen from the ashes of A New Nowhere and their first offering has been bouncing round like a caged beast in my inbox for a few days while I’ve impatiently waited to have the time to give it the courtesy of a damn good listen!

Kicking off with a catchy bass riff, the track swiftly blasts into a super powerful,  heavy as flip 4:24 ear bleeder – and I mean that in a good way! Strong vocals and dirty guitar make this one a definite YES for me. It’s amazing the noise these 3 lads can make!

At the risk of showing my age, I would say that I could fully on see the dance floor at the Mayfair filling up for this one with thrashing bodies, flying hair and air guitars aplenty! I’m left with a desire to now listen to Pearl Jam and Soundgarden as this track would fit in nicely on my playlist right between Jeremy and Black Hole Sun.

Check out and like Null ‘N’ Void on facebook where you’ll also find a canny little video to accompany the song! Follow them on Twitter - @NullNVoid8 - and, as ever, do the lads a favour and head on over to Bandcamp where you can stream, or even better, purchase the track.

By the way, I was pleasantly surprised to hear the track played on Radio Newcastle’s BBC Introducing show tonight – nice one lads!!

I’m looking forward to hearing more from these boys and will be keeping an eye out for when the gigs start rolling in!
